About the Release

‘SuperNatural’ by SYRCLES: A Ceremony in Sound

There’s much about the universe we don’t understand, but SYRCLES’ debut album ‘SuperNatural’ aims to help us connect with the unknowable using a sonic blend of acoustic instrumentation, field recordings and gentle melodies recorded at 432 Hz, the frequency of nature´s sacred geometry. Diverse in sound, this is an album with notes of classic guitar, the Kanun harp, wind instruments and piano that drift in around sound textures of moving waterways, whispering voices and subtle undertones of synth textures.

Three forthcoming singles will set the tone for the album and the live shows planned this summer in Scorpios Bodrum and Mykonos. Lead single ‘Chaka’ is built around ideas of emotional openness, an ambient invitation to sweetness and strength, with a blend of vibrant Andean rhythms showcasing the playing ability that underlies much of SYRCLES’ craft.

Follow up ‘Magnetic’ offers listeners a more introspective, meditative journey with an experience that initially seems simple but offers hidden depths as it pushes us introspectively with gentle sonic textures towards feelings of light transcendence. Taking a different approach and showing us the breadth of SYRCLES’ musical prowess is ‘Hymn of Apu’, a single that channels the spirit of Es Vedrà and Ibizia with chanting vocalisations that evoke hidden layers within us as we listen.

Other tracks on the record contain references to the shadows of setting suns and memories of childhood, while meditative percussion, flutes and other instruments usher in tranquil beauty and musical moments that almost feel like clarity. Ever-shifting, intentional music to weave us back to the vital essence.

‘SuperNatural’ is an intimate listening experience and a statement first release for Scorpios’ new Inner Gardens label.
