Five Senses to Celebrate the Season Ahead

As we announce our opening dates, you’re invited behind the scenes, where new flavors, visions and sounds are slowly emerging. Unfolding as a sensory tour of our kitchens and gathering spaces, the following notes pay homage to the beauty of prelude and anticipation.

TOUCH
Touch is a sense that really comes alive with attention. At Scorpios we feel the sand under our feet, or the sea air on our skin, but often we’re so busy with our daily lives that we don’t notice these sensations unless we focus on them. As we prepare for the season our breathwork practitioners are teaching us how to connect with simple sensory pleasures.

TASTE
The Beach House Restaurant menu has to be light, generous and unfussy while meeting high standards. Our head chefs’ new recipes have seen us trying new marinades, seafood combinations and bright citrusy garnishes, while thinking about long afternoons by the shoreline.

SOUND
Curating our program means moving between healing vibrations, Mediterranean classics and powerful dancefloor mixes. Thinking about energy is key here, while asking questions such as “what will this song feel like during sunset” and “is this a morning soundtrack, or something for later in the day?” Ultimately sound shapes every part of our experience and the mood of the spaces.

SCENT
Laying out scent options for the season’s retreats means thinking about an often-neglected sense as something vital to ritual and reconnection. Right now we’re quite drawn to the soft, honeyed woodsmoke of Palo Santo, a fragrance that can feel intimate and sacred, depending on the situation. As we encounter it so rarely in the wild it can really set a tone of “this is a special moment”.

SIGHT
The majesty of the sea. Even if the waves are slower there is always a rhythm as the light brings out different hues and tones, a kaleidoscope of pure blues and white foams. At Scorpios one can see the water lapping to the beach, the kind of view that resets and calms. Simple and essential.

Melodies floating over the sand, salt on skin, a community dancing together. Every summer at Scorpios is built through a variety of sensory details. It’s those nuances that live on in our memories and sustain us during the rest of the year.

Join us and experience these delights in full, sharing long days by the sea.

Scorpios Mykonos opens on May 10; Scorpios Bodrum on May 22.
